52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks John Barron 1770-1840

52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks John Barron

Today I am picking on John Barron. I believe he was born between 1766-1775. Many people have him on their trees born about 1770. I am estimating his birth date from his last census 1830 Hardin Kentucky. I am not able to find him after this date. I believe he may have died before 1840 in Kentucky. The earliest record I found of him in this area is 1805 Nelson Co. tax record and a marriage bond for 1805 of his step daughter Sophia Dixon, she married David Allin ( Allen) John married Susan Mattingly in Virginia. When I was researching for them being married in Virginia, I was looking for places in Virginia as we know it now. Not thinking of the time period of Kentucky being Virgina. A part of Nelson Co. became Hardin Co. ( Barron family lived at). I need to pay attention to history and look for those boundary changes. I am estimating that John came to Nelson about 1790 and he met Susan and they stayed in the area until they died. They had a son name Thomas Hudson Barron, another son name John Barron ( which I am a descendant of ) and a daughter name Martha Elizabeth Barron.

I believe that John had a brother name Augustine Barron who also came to Nelson Co. Kentucky about the same time as John. He ended up moving to Michigan. Augustine was born in Prince George Maryland 1771. He is the son of Samuel Cooksey Barron born 1730 Charles Maryland. I have DNA matches to this family line.

52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks- John Ludlum 1790-1843

This week I thought I would do John Ludlum his birth date is somewhere abt 1790 in Horry South Carolina. The earliest census record I found was the 1830 Federal Census Record for Calhoun Illinois.
2 males under the age 5 ( one being John Quincy Ludlum ), 2 males between 5 and 10 yrs old, 1 male between 15 and 20 yrs old, 6 males between 20-30 yrs old ( might be farm helpers) and on male between 40 and  50 yrs old. ( John)
1 female under 5 yrs old ( Sarah Ann), and one female between 20- 30 yrs old ( Almira, John wife).

1840 Federal Census
1 male under 5 yrs old ( Alma), 1 male between 5-10 yrs old ( John Quincy) 1 male between 50-60 yr old ( John)
1 female under 5 yrs old ( Mary Versilla), 1 female between 5-10 yrs old ( Sarah Ann) 1 female between 10-15 yrs old ( ?) Almira is not on this census, she may have died before 1840.

According to probate records he died 17 Apr 1843, his estate was still being probated after 1850.

We are searching for others who may help us identify the people in photos. Recently a couple big tote boxes showed up at my door step from a cousin. There are many photos of who we have no idea who they are. I believe that many came from my 2nd great grandmother Elmira Jones Veteto, who married William Veteto and remarried William R. Blackburn and the photos were passed down to her daughter Margaret Barron. I think many photos were collected from Garmon and Wanda Estes as they were doing the family tree back in the 1970- 1980s and they were given to them by various family members. Many photos are of the late 1800s- 1960s in Kansas
